How much does it cost for dentist's oral cancer check up?

How much does it cost for dentist's oral cancer check up?

Oral cancer screening is done as part of your regular checkup/cleaning. No additional charge for that on top of what you already pay for the checkup/cleaning/x-rays.

If a dentist does find a suspicious lesion during the screening, then you might have to pay for further diagnostics procedures, such as a biopsy.

Contrary to what the above poster thinks, a family physician cannot fully diagnose oral cancers like a dentist can. Certain oral lesions are visible only on dental X-rays, and to my knowledge there are no family physicians who take dental X-rays as part of a standard physical exam.

Hope this helps.

if you have it... you better go; no matter how much it cost. ask them for financing methods.

Your family doctor can do it. No need to see a dentist.
