Risperdal and Concerta?...Positive for opiates???help..?

My 15yr.old takes Risperdal and Concerta daily. He tested positive for opiates, but these are not opiate drugs are they? I heard the Risperdal might cause it. It does cause drowsiness/dizziness/blurred vision like other "downers" do. But I need some insight please????

My son takes Concerta and as far as I know it is a derivative of Ritalin not sure of risperdal but if you go into web md you can find out most all of your questions if you have no luck there go into google type in the drug you may be able to find the manufacturing company who makes it they would have all of the answers

risperdal is a phenothiazine it will NOT show up in a drug test as an opiate
Concerta is time release ritalin or methylphenidate It could show up as an amphetamine but will NOT show up as an opiate ...have the sample retested if it fails again for opiates ,then your son is on opiates Report It
