Will a drug test come up positive for opiates if I am taking suboxone? I need this question answered ASAP! tku

About drug testing, I want to know if suboxone will show up as positive for opiates. Please, I need help on this right away!!! thank you all in advance

In most cases, no, it will not, but this is dependent on how much you are taking. Unless they do a GC/MS or are specifically looking for buprenorphine, then it will not show up; however, in long term dosing of Suboxone, it is possible that some of the naloxone (which is a derivative of oxymorphone), will show a positive test for
oxycodone/oxymorphone/hydrocodone/hydr... But, most opiate tests are looking for morphine, which is a metabolite of codeine or heroin; hydrocodone usually will not show a positive on the standard opiate test. If you are taking 4 Suboxone a day (4 x 8 mgs of buprenorphine/ 4 x 2 mgs of naloxone), it is not unreasonable to get a positive for opioids. But it is not something I would spend much time worrying about because it is not very likely. Now if the test is pre-employment and very involved for a job like an airline pilot or something, you can probably expect a GC/MS and this will have no problem showing buprenorphine in your system down to very minute levels.

I don't know what the two are, but if you are taking anything - it will show up on the test. I've seen the test cards and the diff. categories on them. If it's like an Rx, then let the nurse know.
