How do I improve someones withdrawls from opiates? ( vicaden, narco, tussionex etc.)?

My boyfriend is going through withdrawls and struggling with opiates, he refuses to get help and I don't want to pressure him into doing something he doesn't want or have to do. Is there anything I can do to improve the situation? All I do is listen and try to understand. I'm also the type of person where I've never done any drugs and I mean nothing!! so any advice will be helpful. thank you.

I have been addicted to Vicodin and Percocet and the best way to get off them is the shittiest. You just have to quite cold turkey. You can take other things to make it seem less severe but that then allows the possibility of opening up another addiction. Drink lots of tea's and other things with vitamins. Vicodin dehydrates you so you want to replenish your body with water, and other good liquids, not soda. In three to five days he will feel better and start getting a grip back on his life, he has to want to do it though.Hope i helped.

He has to want help before he will seek help, I don't know how or why he is on these drugs but they a potent drugs and I got addicted to Vicoden and had to be weened off of it with my doctors help.
Now keep a eye on your money, it could come up missing.

if you dont want to go to a doctor, you can go to a pharmacy or chemist and ask any of the staff there, they will know best, if there is somethink that they can give you over the counter or if you will have to get s prescription from a doctor in order to get some type of medication to ease the withdrawl symptoms and the cold turkey.

i think you are doing your job, the rest should fell on him, he must have the will to be cured, an inpatient detoxification center is essential in the beginning, try to persuade him of taking such a step.

Whenever your boyfriend has a craving, you should both sit down, do deep breathing and meditate for at least 10 minutes about a bright future.

Weaning one's self from an addiction requires a positive lifestyle change, so replace the time formerly thrown away on using opiates with something else that is good for him. Replace a bad habit with a good one!

Asking for a doctor's help may be of some assistance, however, you boyfriend will ultimately have to face up to his true inner turmoil and quit using by himself, for himself.

Good luck to him, and I wish you both the very best.

all he can do is ride it out and treat his symptoms with over the counter remedies. i.e paracetamol for the fever and aches,( not co-codamol as this is an opiate too). anti nausia medication to controll vomitting and anti diarrhoea medication. hot baths and eating as much junk food as poss. i.e macdonalds, kfc it still wont be easy but it will ease some of the symptoms making it a bit easier
