How long do you have to be off of opiates?

To start suboxone? I have read 12 hours at least. I am on hour 14 and in mild withdrawl. Last time I did this I was on hour 16 so don't know if I should wait 2 more hours to be safe. I had to go back on opiates for surgery and after 5 days I am done and going back on sub.

The number of hours is not so critical as the being in active withdrawals. If you are actively in withdrawal right now, you can take the sub.

It can depend on the opiate being used. I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
