Who does the U.S. buy opiates from? (morphine, codeine, etc)?

Does the U.S. have poppy fields like in the middle east and Asia or do they fund the organizations we're supposedly at war with either directly or indirectly?

We buy our supply from Turkey and India.

Afghanistan grows poppy illegally (at least according to US law)

We buy them from the drug company's that make them-where they get the ingredients is up to them.

I'd say the US is pretty self sufficient in that aspect. Unfortunately i can't give you a definite answer but the amount of money the pharmacutical companies make I'm sure they would have figured something out.

US meds ingredients come from all over including China. My mother called up her prescription plan to find out if anything came from China & had her account marked that she only wants meds made in USA,

For a couple of meds she had to call the pharmaceutical co. to find out.

To answer your question, the US probably funds organizations or gov'ts we're supposedly at war with either directly or indirectly!
