Need some help trying to get off opiates please help!!?

I have a question I have been taking pain meds for about 5 yrs now it started out for legit reseasons and as time went on I continued to keep taking what I could just to prevent withdrawl. On most days I take about 140mg of Hydrocodone, I will however take oxy or anything I can get when I can get it but I continue to get prescriptions for norco 10/325 for pain management and want off. I have tried several times over the years to stop going every route possible cold turkey, Weaning off over time, Using catapress and benzos and trying to stop with no sucess in any of the mentioned ways. This time I am commited and at the time do not have a dr as I was dropped by my dr. recently for doctor shopping. I live in a very rual area and have limited resources available to me as well as no transportaition. I have no family or friends where I live so I am pretty well stuck in the town in which I live. I was able to get ahold of some suboxone as I have done research. I will post the rest next!!

you need rehab

I have been exactly where you are. I sympathize with you. You will likely get some replies on here that are sarcastic and mean, but listen to me. It is very dangerous to try to get off of opiates on your own. I was addicted to hydrocodone and was at the level you are at daily. Withdrawal was not pleasant...diarrhea, aches, pains, sweating, nausea, absolutely just wanting to die. You NEED to go to the ER and be honest with them. They will not be astonished. They see this kind of thing everyday. You need to have liver function tests run to see how your liver has held up over the past 5 years of addiction. The acetaminophen (Tylenol) in the Lortab, Vicodin, is as harmful as the hydrocodone. They will help you and they have Social Workers there that can refer you to a good detox program. I love my life now that I am off those things. They were controlling my life in every sense of the word. I would get one script filled and immediately start worrying about getting the next one. This is a legitimate illness and you need medical help getting off of those things. All the best. If you need any more moral support email me:
