What is oncology and hematology?

Oncology is the branch of medicine that deals with cancer. Hematology is the branch of medicine that involves diseases and problems with blood. Often times they are lumped together and called Hem-Onc (pronounced heem-onk).

Oncology deals with cancer and hematology deals with blood disorders.

Oncology is related to cancer treatment. Hematology concerns blood, platelettes and plasma.
