Any Oncology or Cardiologists in the house...maybe a knowledgable medical tech...? |
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... I read all the entries, and the main thing I can come up with, besides waiting for the blood cultures, which should be soon, is that everything is NEGATIVE, and after all you've been through, that must be a great relief to you. Because you say there was redness and swelling at your catheter site, you probably do have a catheter related infection. The blood culture will show it if that's true. It just takes up to three days for the culture to grow whatever is there, or to be cleared. You really could have picked up a bug of some kind--just a cold, that gave you a fever, and some people can have a headache with fever. Other than that, I think everyone else has pretty much covered everything. I will still keep hoping ALL your results come back negative, and whatever this has been will finish it's course and leave you alone--feeling much better. I'm sure you know that even stress can exacerbate pain and poor health. I'm hoping at least you can not stress over it, and I know that's hard given what you've been through--but let's not worry until we know for sure whether or not there's something to worry about, because the very act of worrying can contribute to a worse outcome.... |
