Is There Such a Speciality as Geriatric Oncology?

My Mom (79) was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer. I am searching furiously for a specialist......so far I can't find one....but I think it would help if we at least had a geriatric oncologist. We live in the Cleveland, Ohio area.....and yes we already looked at Ireland Cancer and I got a long silence on the phone when I asked for a geriatric oncologist......I swear I have heard of this specialty before.

You just need an oncologist -- there really isn't a difference between a 40yo with cancer and a 79yo with cancer.

There are pediatric oncologist- that may be what you are thinking of.
