Vegetarian sources of Omega-3 fatty acids?

I am a vegetarian, and I suffer from depression. I have read from numerous sources that Omega-3 fatty acids are especially helpful in treating depression, but the main source of Omega-3 seems to be fish. I am not willing "bend the rules". Are there any vegetarian sources for Omega-3 fatty acids?

Soy products and flax seeds and flax oil contain stacks of omega 3 and there is also some in walnuts but unfortunately these are all ALA of which only about 5 to 10% is metabolised or converted to DHA which is the beneficial one. Fish oil contains DHA and EPA in the DHA/EPA mix in the proportions of 60% EPA and 40% DHA.

St John's Wort is supposed to be good for anxiety and depression.

Nuts and seeds are good sources of the omega 3's.

Why not try eating more foods rich in magnesium - known as the antistress mineral?? Foods such as leafy greens, brown rich, apples, tuna, salmon and sardines.
