How much omega-3 fatty acids "fish oil concentrate" should I take a day? |
I have 1000 mg softgel tablets. And I don't have anything wrong with me for health besides RA but I just want to take this for the benefits behind it. So what is the daily dose for everyone?? I have very high cholesterol. I usually take one no more than two of the kind I use, but then again I also try to eat tuna, or salmon, herring or sardines everyday as part of my diet. My favorite product is Natrol (tm) Omega-3 Complex. It not only has certified distilled purified fish oil, but it also contains flax seed and borage Oil. Just remember that too much of one thing is not good for you. Not sure about doses, but be careful. My brother had a routine blood test one time that seemed to show something wrong with his liver. He even had to have a liver biopsy done which was painful and scary. Turns out that nothing was wrong with his liver, but his doctor told him to stop taking those fish oil tablets since he's seen them cause bad liver readings in blood tests before. My brother stopped taking them, and now has normal blood test readings. His doctor told him to stop taking all that "crap". Since you're now healthy, maybe you should consider the same. The best source DHA omega-3 fatty acids come from various types of fish. They can be found in other types of foods like I think I've seen sources of it in chicken eggs sometimes, but the best source comes from fish. |
