How to avoid fish burps from Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) supplements?

I recently started taking fish oil supplements and have twice experienced nasty fish oil burps about a half hour after taking the pills.
Has anyone who has experienced tried methods to avoid getting the burps?
I tried taking them before and after eating and I've gotten them after either time.
Does anyone have tips?

I take OmegaGuard and if I do burp there is only a very very slight taste.

It's a pharmaceutical grade omega 3 and uses a state-of-the-art, proprietary, low temperature, triple molecular distillation and purification process that concentrates natural beneficial omega 3 fatty acids and helps remove harmful comtaminants including heavy metals lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, dioxins and PCBs.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

.Oh I know, try the liquid. It is flavored and my health food store says the liquid is better anyway and it does not contain mercury. They said a lot of people take it and have no bad side effects with the liquid:)

Try flax seed oil capsules, I'm allergic to fish so that is what I take. It doesn't taste like much of anyuthing.

have them before lunch
before you go to bed with a glass of lukewarm water

Try a different brand. Also you can get Omega 3 from other health store products. Take them with a meal so that they digest normally. But don't quit taking your Omega 3. Good luck.

There's a fish oil that comes in enteric-coated pills which withstand stomach acid. So the oil is processed in the intestine, so you avoid the fishy aftertaste. I found those at Safeway in the natural foods aisle.

Right now I'm taking Trader's Joe's brand (Trader Darwin's) omega-3 fatty acids which have undergone steam deodorization to prevent fishy burps.
