Omega 3 doseage?

Hi. I was wondering how much omega is recommended to take in one day? I have triple omega pills (flax, fish, borage). The supplement facts read:

400 mg flaxseed oil
400mg borage oil
400 mg Fish oil (it says 50% next to it)

The it says:
"These three oils typically provide the following fatty acid profile:
Omega-3 Fatty acids 420mg"

Then it continues w/:

220mg ALA
120mg EPA
80mg DHA
286mg Omega-6 Fatty acids
180mg Linoleci acid
88mg GLG
152mg Omega-9 fatty acids

What does this all mean? How many should I be taking? Three? I am not very sure. Thanks. =]

If you're interested the brand is called "Sundown" & it's label reads:

TRIPLE OMEGA
3-6-9
FLAX, FISH, & BORAGE OILS

It was about 7 bucks maybe? It came with 60 pills. I think it was only 7 bucks. I bought that along w/ food from Publix (food store in Florida), so I remember how much. =]

When you buy a supplement of something you already have too much in your body, you are overcharging or over supplying your body with that substance. That is the case for Omega 6 and omega 9, you already have too much in your diet( in all modern diets) and are doing more harm than good by providing more.

You should supplement ONLY with omega 3, which is fish oil, of which we all have a big deficiency. Try to have at least 3grams per day of fish oil(50 mgr of EPA and 360 mgr of DHA)

All that sounds like GOOD doses to take!! I would just take them because these fats are absolutely phenomenal for you!!!! I am so happy you are thinking of taking this because there are so many benefits!!!!!
What is the brand?!
If you take this along with eating enough fish, nuts, seeds and oils, YOU ARE GOOD TO GO! haha!!!
Take 3 - 4 unless you feel sick....take with some food though!!

You need the Omega 3, which most people don't get enough of in their diet. You want to to balance the radio of omega 3 to omega 6. People usually get enough 6s in their diet and do not need a supplement.

I take a supplement that only contains omega 3s. I try to eat salmon and whole grains (rich sources of omega 3) when I can.
