My doctor told me to take 4000 mg of omega-3 fatty acid daily. Is this too much? Should I reduce it?


He told me it would help with depression, but I don't know how much it's helping

I don't know about depression, but omega-3 can cut down on blood cholesterol. It really can't hurt you to take that much. That's really not even that much, probably only four pills a day?

you have to give any depression remedy time to work.....

i know those fish pills are disgusting.....as you burp up fishy flavor...but you can also take flaxseed oil instead.....

i'd give it about 6 weeks to start working....

It's only 4 grams; less than1/7th of an ounce. It's a reasonable quantity, but read page 2 at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris first. Don't expect instant results: all treatments take time to reach full effectiveness; after 6 weeks, you should notice some improvement.
