Is a career in occupational therapy worth it?

After reading some stuff on "Yahoo Answers" for the 1st time, I feel Occ. Ther. is getting a bad rep. It seemed like a really rewarding career from its description!

Can anyone help me out - is it a rewarding, worthwhile career?

And more specifically what kind of things would I be doing as an Occ. therapist?

How does Occ. Therapy vary among age groups?

I know it's a lot of Qs - what ever you can answer would be great. Thanks :)

My ex-wife was once in the field, and it was both personally and financially rewarding. So long as you're situated in an area with a need for it, and said area is not blessed with an overabundance of OTs.

If you're looking for the money pot, try seeking a position either at a clinic in an industrial area, or working on-site for an established company as their in-house OT.

I have a great deal of respect for occupational and physical therapists. They help people. They have helped me, so that I can continue to be productive and feed my family. They are wonderful people, and you cannot do wrong embarking on this endeavor.
