How to get into Occupational Therapy? |
I am 30 and would like to change my career. Does anyone have any advice where I can start and who I need to contact in regards to becoming an occupational therapist? lots of colleges enroll people you will have to search out the nearest one to you! then go from there! good luck! See: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/qu... Contact your nearest Medical College. Break your back. Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles has one of the best programs. I looked into it as a friend thought this would be a great career for me. (I was taking care of babies at the time and my friend said that I would be teaching the same things only to the other end of the spectrum in age!) Anyway, the roadblock I ran into is that you have to get a recommendation from a doctor or nurse or a therapist to get into the program. I knew an occupational therapist, but she said that she could not recommend me unless I did volunteer work at the hospital first. I couldn't do that and work full-time too, so that was the end of those plans! Contact One. |
