Occupational Therapy question, how is the field, any burnout???

Is there anyone out there who is an OT and is experiencing burn-out? I was considering this as one field to go into, but it doesn't seem that well known ( whenever someone asks me what i want to be, i have to explain to them what an OT is, what they do, etc.). Also, whenever i look on sites like "Monster" I hardly ever see job openings for this field, they are all openings for Physical Therapy. Any ideas, insights, thoughts?

Trust me, there are enough OT job openings. You see more openings for PT's because there are more PT's out there.
I did experience burn out about 5 years ago, so I quit my job and got a new one in a completely different area ( adolescent mental health to neonatal ICU). That's the BEST thing about this profession, you'll never have a reason to stay stuck in a job that your burnt out on.

Yes, easily, plus, we currently hire new grads.. and almost always have at least one open OT position at UCLA med center. Report It
