Im going to school in the fall to be an occupational therapy assistant.?

is there anybody who does this, and how much do you really make? what EXACTLY does the job entail? i want to work with kids. can someone explain what happens in a days work?

i have done alot of research, and i've been on all the websites. i know cota's median salary is 38K, not 20K. i just never spoke with an actual cota. just curious. i guess i'll find it all out in school.

OK, you have committed to study this and don't know what the job entails....maybe you are asking this question a little too late!

Find more information at aota.com or at advance for ot (its an on-line free magazine site)
A COTA would start around 20k a year but this depends on the area that you live and the field that you work in. Schools and hospitals generally pay the lowest. A days work for a COTA would be doing therapy with your patients and documenting on each patient.
