According to occupational safety and health, what is the procedure for reporting an accident?

We need to know your location, because the laws vary throughout the world. I can't give you an accurate answer without knowing where you are and your jurisdiction. post again with more details and I will be happy to help.

You must write a report of the accident in the accident book or forms. If your place of employment hasn't got a book, then they must go out and buy one, any book will do, if forms are used then these need to be filled in, , if your employer has these, once filled, a copy must be sent to the health and safety department, for Head office records. A copy of the write up also needs to be sent to the health and safety department, or the report could be written on a computer, but make sure a back up copy exist, one copy also sent to head office, for their records.

According to occupational and safety/health guidelines, you are required to follow the procedure that is set by your facility (i.e. where you work). Each facility might have a different set of rules to follow. Please ask your human resources dept or boss for where to find them. Supervisors are also required to know them.
