I cannot get the treatment I need?

As a nursing student, I feel I cannot go to get help for my mental health problems and depression/anxiety. all of this gets logged into all my files and everyone has access to all my records, and i have to pass regular occupational health checks constantly just to stay on the actual course.

what can i do to seek help? I have previously had help for this a while ago, but this was way before and i am claiming to be better but really i am not at all. i just said that to pass the checks.

i dont think it would really impact my work, because i work hard and im good at hiding it but something has to give if i am thinking this way. i have to be careful as i need to declare what im being prescribed etc. hmmm im worried.

"have you ever been diagnosed with anxiety/depression? If yes, give dates"

- occupational health dept at uni.

I don't understand why you think this would go into your files at school. No one would know what goes on between you and your doctor unless you tell them. Regular occupational health checks for nursing school don't involve you seeing a doctor for depression. Just because you have to declare what you are prescribed doesn't mean you have to declare WHY you are prescribed any meds. You need to take care of yourself.

Your diagnosis of having anxiety/depression seems to cause you even more anxiety. I get the feeling you are ashamed of it. If so you need to confront it and resolve it. See a professional to get the help you need. I suggest a certified neurofeedback therapist. This way you don't have to depend on medications that leave you dependent. You can address the anxiety and depression right away. There are many psychologists who are certified neurofeedback therapists also. Click below to read more

If you go see a counselor on your own and get medication through your doctor you are protected by HIPPA laws to not have your health information disclosed to any one who you choose it not go to.

If you need help get it.

I suggest that you go somewhere other then where you are doing your training. Keep it separate from the medical facility that you are concerned about. Being a nurse is very stressful. You need to take care of yourself so you will be better able to help others. Good Luck
