If you have obsessive compulsive disorder what kind of job you have?

I have obsessive compulsive disorder, and often get fired. what kind of job do you think is suitable for me? If you have obsessive compulsive disorder what kind of job you have?

My symptoms is that I keep on checking things over and over again. For example, I keep on checking the door lock over and over again to see if it locked properly, so that I get a right feeling.

You could be a stats person. You would be perfect because you would check to make sure they are up to date and right.

What about a security guard at night? You would check the buildings to see if they are locked and empty.

Do not give up. What you may see as a weakness, in the right setting is a great strength. You should also consider going to a local community program office that helps place people with OCD. Or find an OCD support group.

Good Luck!

a work from home job like computers and things like that

First of all, you have a disability, and so that actually gives you legal protections and standing. You might want to investigate exactly what your rights are. B/c folks w/ OCD are so incredibly detail oriented, have you considered becoming a detective or an investigator of some kind? That or an "organoleptic evaluator", which is the long way of saying a food or wine critic. As most folks w/ OCD are extremely sensitive and have extremely developed critical senses, have you considered looking into becoming an editor, or an evaluator or a critic as I mentioned before? There are many, many jobs that would be perfect for you and that you would be the ideal candidate for. What about an event planner, one who makes sure every little detail is perfectly in place?

How about Law School? You have to be detailed, and many lawyers are excentric.

I should say that quite a few people in the medical profession have OCD.
Think about it, wouldn't a career as an Inspector, or any attention to detail profession for that matter, be ideal.
Of course you'll have to somewhat efficiently manage your OCD first.
Have you ever considered Psychotherapy? "Psycho" does not imply that you're crazy. In fact people diagnosed with OCD typically have more practical intelligence.
Thought control is not such an easy task (with OCD).
A Psychotherapist may help you focus your compulsiveness in a productive way.

I suffer from OCD but it's borderline and I have been on medication for years. No one can tell unless i tell them so I lead a normal life and have been working for the same company for years now. If you have never sought help do so. Start with your Dr. He'll advise you. Believe me OCD is very common but it can make your life a misery. If you need more info you can IM me.

well it depends on the person i myself have ocd and aniexty i work from home myself.not answering the question though

hello there terry!im also one of the millions ocd sufferes worldwide..but im still a student..yeah..ocd is adebilitating illness but it doesnt mean thet it wll limit our life..with a proper treatment, people with ocd are often high achievers..me myself is avery well performed student in my school.recently ive got an offer to do medicine overc.however, due to my ocd i refused to go and stay study medicine locally.so that ive the space to proceed with my therapy under my psychiatrist.if ur symptoms is checking..than ive washing rituals which demand me to spend hours washing my hands..but with the meds that my psy. prescribed..the sypmtoms gradually improve and i believed that i will someday have the normmal life like others.
so, turst me..u can be anybody..having any job.just think positively and get help soon.my psy. said that the goal of treatment is not to eliminate this character but to modify it.according to him, this is a gud character wich will drive us to succes if we use it in proper way.i know its hard to chage as i experienced it myself..but notin is impossible in this world..im quite happy now..my symptoms seems getting better and i can focus more on my study now..
so, why not u?
what u have to do now is find help and take the first step to change.
u can be what u dream to be b4..dont let ocd control u.u instead need to control ur mind!
gud luck!
