Am i INSANE or something? or OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER? |
ill be sitting there, bored, and someone will walk by. ill have a weird urge to straighten their shirt or fix their hair. or sometimes the teacher is writing on the board, and she misses a bit of marker, and i want to leap up and shake her and erase it. I have OCD, and the desire to neaten and the foot positioning definitely sound like OCD symptoms. But please, don't dismiss the desire to shake your teacher and the impulse to throw things across the room as "not like anger management" simply because you have not actually shaken your teacher and the thrown objects were inanimate. These do sound like anger management issues. Becoming so frustrated with another's perceived imperfection for so minor an issue as handwriting is definitely not healthy, and indulging in the fantasy won't help. Throwing objects (and thus risking them, whatever inanimate objects they happen to hit, and whatever ANIMATE objects happen to cross their paths at the wrong time) is definitely not a mature way of dealing with a problem; I do not say this to be cruel -- in fact, just the opposite, for it would make you feel so much better to know that you could deal with things in a peaceful and healthy way -- but that behavior indicates that you need to make a concerted effort to work on becoming more emotionally mature. I think it is! haha! yep, thats OCD. Yea, I would say you are OCD. I am so OCD about certain things. For example, germs drive me crazy. I cannot stand anything dirty and if I think someone is dirty and they touch me or if I have to shake their hand I immediately have to wash my hands otherwise I feel sick. I understand what you mean about things needing to be perfect. It can make things so frustrating. You are probably just a perfectionist. As long as it isn't causing you serious problems (like sleep loss, social problems, headaches, anxiety attacks, etc) it is probably not a big deal. Talk to a psychologist if you are really having trouble. Hmm I cant really say. Maybe these are really strong habits you have. Not obbsessive compulsive. This disorder runs your life and revolves around it. Trust me i suffer with this. It's I think a lot of people are like that, to an extent... some just call themselves "neat freaks", and others will say "sorry, I'm a bit OCD". whatever no it is called human some of us like stuff done the right way it is not insane you are just a perfectionist SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU NEED SOME PRESCRIPTION DRUGS,GO SEE A PSYCH. DR.YOU NEED SOMETHING TO SLOW YOU DOWN AND TO HELP YOU FOCUS ON MEANINGFUL THINGS,THESE THINGS ARE TRIVIAL. It sounds like you might have OCD, although a lot of people do the same things you do and we just call them quirks...anyway, I'll post a link that lists the symptoms of OCD so that you can read up on it. Seems like it. Why don't you find a therapist or check at a college psych dept ot hosp for assessment or to confirm it? |
