How do I control obsessive compulsive personality disorder in myself?

I thought I had obsessive compulsive disorder but it turns out to be OCPD. I expect to much from my girlfriend friends and family and I want it to stop especially for my girlfriend. I know Im putting a lot of stress on her and pushing her away and I want to stop. She has put up with it for 5 months now and I know she loves me for dealing with me. Its going to be hard for me to stop because she doesnt make it easy with some of the things she does but I need to get my problem out of the way so I can rationally deal with our problems. Thank You.

You need to get help first but also you need to let her know that it is not her and that you can't help yourself and that you're trying. But if you say that to her and you just keep just doing what you're doing people can take so much with out you helping yourself. You have to make a move to show you love them enough to help you. I'm not trying to be mean to you but I am a person with a illness and I to had to go get help to show the one I love that i to loved them. Sometimes loving ourselfs is more love to them then love we give them if you know what I mean so please go get it before you lose something you might look back on and hate yourself for later.

You need a therapist - you cannot do this yourself. Thinking you can do is just another manifestation of OCD

Go see a good psychiatrist and maybe get on some medication.

my husband has this and therapy helps him !

Since it's a personality disorder you will need therapy to help. And you will probably be in therapy a long time. You don't know any other way of dealing with the world and the people in it, so you will need help with this, and help coping with things that irritate you about people.
You need the coping skills and the support from a therapist. Your girlfriend and her family will not be able to understand you or see where you're coming from, so it might also help if you have the therapist talk to your girlfriend some time or give her some information on the disorder.

good luck!
