If i have all the symptoms found in the DSM-IV-TR for obsessive compulsive disorder, does that mean i have it?

with a high degree of certainty? i have also seen a therapist and he told me i definitely have OCD.

"To be diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, one must have either obsessions or compulsions alone, or obsessions and compulsions, according to the DSM-IV-TR diagnostic criteria. The Quick Reference to the diagnostic criteria from DSM-IV-TR (2000) describes these obsessions and compulsions:

Obsessions are defined by:

Recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced at some time during the disturbance, as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress.

The thoughts, impulses, or images are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems.

The person attempts to ignore or suppress such thoughts, impulses, or images, or to neutralize them with some other thought or action.

The person recognizes that the obsessional thoughts, impulses, or images are a product of his or her own mind."

4x check.

Well, if it looks like a cat, meows like a cat and purrs like a cat , it probably is a cat. Yeah, you probably do. But be glad there are ways to deal with it.

in DSM IV,someone can diagnosed with OCD if they hv both obsessive(u have known the definition) and compulsive thing. Report It

Well, if you fit the criteria then it is could be very likely you are ocd. But, you shouldn't be going around diagnosing yourself, if you think you are you should consult your doctor. They know how to be sure, really i like the think of these things as just a list to get you an idea if you are, but you need a professional doctor to tell you before you fly off the handle. If you are he/she may prescribe you some medication, i would suggest taking it. I've taken medication before for ocd stuff and i must say it helped me quite a bit. Well, whatever happens best of luck!
