Do i have an O.C?????? (obsessive compulsive disorder)? |
many of my friends told me that i have this kind of disorder. go to google and look up criteria for obsessive compulsive disorder...they will give you the clinical signs for the disorder..there are many aspects to the disorder..organizers, germ phobes, counting, superstitions, and others but those are the main ones...if you have the criteria after you look it up, go to a psychiatrist and therapist and they can work with you..medications work well to help with the obsessions to be so organized, something as simple as prozac or zoloft...it runs in my family It's not called O.C... it's called OCD. All because you're very organized doesn't mean that you have it. If you feel anxious and nervous without organizing, then maybe just a tad. But if you go through rituals or obsessions then yes, you do have it. But I do not think that you do. Well, everyone has a trait in them that one may call "a little OCD" however, just being very organized isnt a disorder, in fact its quite the opposite. Generally OCD is characterized by completing an action multiple times in a row (washing hands is a common one) and you will have more concerns than just being super organized. For more information, check out some medical sites like webmd.com Im a perfectionist and get cranky if things aren't right, but that doesn't mean I have OCD. If you are obsessive about it, and have to compulsivly make it right then it may be. Most people with OCD tend to repetativly do something becuase either without realising or without control. Like wash your hands constatly, ect. Typically people who have OCD go through rituals and have extreme habits that they absolutely have to do. If they do not do it right the first time, they MUST do it again. Just because you are organized doesnt mean you have OCD. But ask yourself, if I dont do it perfectly right do I have to fix it until it is perfect? If you stongly suspect you have OCD, go to your doctor and I'm sure they will be able to give you an answer. |
