Obsessive compulsive disorder question?

I worry about whether something happened or not to the point that I convince myself it did & I'm having a hard time differentiating what's real & what's not. It's taking a toll on my family & relationships. Sometimes I want to pull out my hair!!! I can't stand the anxiety anymore. i've been to shrinks since i was 14yrs old been on every medicine under the sun, been hospitalized. nothing is working.

it doesn't sound like you have OCD. If you have trouble differentiating reality from non-reality.... It could be schitzoaffective disorder or schizophrenia? I don't mean to worry you, but please see a psychiatrist [not a psychologist] to get diagnosed and for help.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is classified as an anxiety disorder. Patients with OCD have persistent thoughts they cannot control (obsessions) and/or feel they must perform certain actions repeatedly (compulsions) in order to feel safe, to stop obsessive thoughts, or to be able to go about their daily business. When obsessions and compulsions interfere with someone鈥檚 ability to work or to live their life, it becomes identified as an illness. About 2.2 million adult Americans have OCD, according to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

An example of OCD occurs when people who have obsessive thoughts about accidentally burning down their house repeatedly return home to make sure they have not left the stove on. Patients usually understand that their thoughts and behaviors are irrational and senseless, but cannot free themselves from them.

Give energy techniques a try before you abandon hope. EFT is one and yahooo won't allow the source em of ree. com or TAT or others can work miracals in some cases. You can do some yourself.

That is not OCD. You need to be re-evaluated and possibly be institutionalized for an extended period of time.
