Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Do symptoms worsen/proliferate/diversify?

I used to have it pretty bad when i was young but as i got older they seem to lessen, althougth i still do count and tap and check everything a million times im not freaked out about it as i only have it mildly and it helps that my friends and partner have a laugh with me about it and dont judge me

Often.

This is something I can speak on from personal experience. A mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as psycho-pharm. has relieved a lot of the stress of the compulsions. However, OCD is a lifelong battle, and the sooner you can manage the obsessive thoughts and/or compulsions, the better. Good luck man.

See a therapist. Seriously. And never think you have it all under control by yourself. It impacts so many parts of your life. And be honest right away with potential partners. I dated someone with OCD who waited 3 months to tell me and I never forgave him because I would have never dated him if I knew. Some are more tolerant of others. Look for those people.

what are you asking?

i have it , i think they do proliferate

symptoms can come and go, good and bad days. using tools to curb your anxiety levles helps. but i dont think it ever goes away forever

OCD is a neurological disorder. Prozac is often given to OCD patients but it's worth asking your doctor for some advice. The symptoms can worsen over time and can worsen if the patient is under stress or going into a stressful situation. The worst advice for OCD sufferers is someone telling them to try and stop, instead, it is better that the patient receives counselling or joins a self-help group where they can meet other sufferes and gain a better understanding and support.

ocd symptoms can change over time they can worsen when stressed in your life, but you can cope with this it is a life long battle but you can learn to cope.have you seen your gp? there is help medications good luck.

Hi there

I would strongly recommend hypnotherapy to get to the root of the OCD.

All the best
