Obesity?!!!!!!?


i'm 14 yrs old and about 5'5 1/2 i play lots of sports and i dont eat junk food, but i still feel obese. how do i lose the extra junk. thing is, i wanna keep my butt! (i'm not a skinny blonde that is always complaining. i'm a latina with a lil problem) thanx 4 helping! really appreciate it!

drink a lot of water....at least 8 -10 8once glasses a day.

I know this one is going to be hard for you to do..but take your three meals and take just a little amount of food away...also take your three meals and cut them in half...this way you eat breakfast ..and them eat between breakfast and lunch, a small amount of food( god food not junk) then eat lunch, and between lunch and dinner eat very small amount.., then eat dinner and between dinner an d bedtime eat your last small meal..( this also helps stop you from eating snacks or junk food..) eating these several small meals keeps you metabolism working and it actually burns more fat....
also WALK...start off with a short time and slower pace..and work up to a least one hour...one your at one hour, speed up to almost a slow jog..( but not jogging) for a minute at first....then slow down to a good paced walk..so your heart can get back to the normal range...for five minutes..then keep doing this for as long as you can( at first) and work up to the one hour..and then wall as fast as you can for five minutes and rest for five..and again work up to your hour..
remember you must start out real slow and for a short time and work up to the max..so your body gets the full benefit from this..

It's totally natural to feel fat during your teenage years for girls. Just as long as you're staying active, you're just fine the way you are.

Try excrising some that might help.

It sounds like you are doing the right things - just give it time. As you develop more, the weight will shift to the right areas.

Just make sure you eat often enough (every 3-4 hours)- otherwise you put your body into starvation mode, which causes your body to produce cortisol, which causes you to get some belly fat.

How much do you weigh? YOu did not say. Do you know what obese means? Sounds to me like you are doing the right things by playing sports and eating tight. Try drinking plenty of water. That should help you. good luck.

Drop the wish for a big butt, darlin'. Wish for a lack of diabetes instead.

Don't eat too much beans, rice, pasta, and bread. Don't drink soda or juice. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and get some exercise.

Voila, no weight problem.

You may "feel" Obese, but many women feel fatter than they really are. Be realistic of what a normal weight for you is. at 5'5" norm can be from 100 to 130 so consult a nutritionist (prob. one at your school) and lunges will keep your botton "up"

Do not worry about your size, you don't sound too big and are doing all the right things. You also might be have water retention due to periods etc... good luck

Actually most people get LESS active as they get older and tend to put on more weight.

Its not about looks its about health. Currently the modern image of what looks good is too skinny while the reality is that most people are unhealthily too fat.

How do you decide whats right for you? Keep active, eat healthy foods and your body will 'discover' its own ideal weight and it will be slightly different for each person.

I'm 14 too, and I'm 5"7 I'm laid-back, really energetic, I sometimes do eat junk, but I'm currently classed as underweight, not a problem, I'm fine with my weight..that's what you get for being belimic (excluding the throat and fingers)..
Just try getting more mental and physical excercise..try getting more fitter..

Try and ignore our* teases about being fat and chubby. :)

what you should do is know your BMI and your Fat% these two scores will tell you how far off you are. The main thing is to keep your calories around 1500 daily.

This will tell you if you are overweight or obese. Obesity is quite severe. You didn't tell us what you weigh or your body frame, so it is difficult to tell if you do need to lose weight.

You can keep your butt. I would recommend squats (if you do not have knee problems), if you want to build a good butt.

maybe its within the way that you eat. Junk food doesn't necessarily make you fat, food in general causes you to be fat. Maybe you should try eating less instead of watching what you eat. Alot of people that have weight problems don't necessarily eat bad they eat too much. Watch your portion sizes and drink water! Keep active with your sports and try to walk or run though out the week.
