Obesity genetic or diet?

do you think obesity is genetic or due to diet?
for thoes who think genetic,
how do you explain Asians. Who for thousands of years were think. then when given the american, fast food diet
become obese

Who for thousands of years were think = Who for thousands of years were THIN

I say it's both. You need the genetics as well as the lifestyle to trigger obesity. The Chinese just never had very much to eat for a long time now, but even then, they are 60% more likely than any other race to develop diabetes mellitus (type 2). There are also lots of people who eat a lot of junk food but never get overweight or obese, so it's the same thing, you need both factors to be present for the manifestation.

genetic.

I think it is a little bit of both

Obesity cannot be categorized either way. It always depends upon the person. In my case, it is from thyroid disease..neither genetic OR diet.
