viv--------------exercise is CRITICAL--------lots of it----several times a day--every day---------eat light-eat often---eat healthy-----------drink plenty of water-----lots of it------avoid messing with any fads, scams, pills or crash diets-----------diet too hard and eat too little and you gain weight-----your body kicks into starvation mode and stores everything-----EXERCISE raises metabolism

Dieting is very bad for your health and can stress the heart and other organs. Creams and other weight-loss systems don't work. Or if they do they are dangerous and the results are temporary. Liposuction is dangerous and doesn't get rid of the fat around your organs and heart and can have long term problems. Surgery for stomach stapling is also dangerous and has long term problems. Hoodia and other pills are stimulants and can potentially affect the heart as well. Plus it's not a practical or healthy solution to pop pills for the rest of your life to keep the weight off. Dieting brings weight back with a fury when you stop as every dieter knows and makes losing weight even harder the next time around. Yoyo dieting is stressful on the organs and heart.

Change of lifestyle is the only healthy and permanent way to lose weight. If you're looking for an "easy" way to lose weight, there isn't one. Losing weight is not easy. If it was, we'd all be skinny.

In principle losing weight is simple - burn more calories than you eat. In other words, eat less and move more. The hard part is consistency and staying motivated. Losing weight is hard work, but rewarding when you see results. A weight loss program is a permanent change of your habits that should last the rest of your life. Before making radical changes to your diet and starting excercise routines, it would be wise to consult with your physician.

Drink lots and lots of water. We're supposed to drink atleast six to eight glasses of water every day. Water is vital for organ functioning, metabolism and therefore for weightloss as well. Water also helps make you feel full.

A little hunger in the middle of the day won't hurt you. Learn to ignore it or reach for celery or other low fat, low calorie filler to fend off between meal hunger pangs.

It's important to eat three regular meals every day at roughly 2,000 calories in total. You don't have to count every calorie but remember every plus on top of the 2,000 means less weight lost. Most people eat portions that are far too large. If you can't see your dinner plate and the person sitting across from you on the other side of the table, then your portion is waaaaay too big. One good method for adjusting portions is to use a salad plate to eat your meal from. And eat only one serving. Don't go back for seconds. Most people know what healthy eating is so I don't need to say much about it; more vegetables, fruit and whole grains, less meat and processed foods. Stay away from sugars and saturated fats. So NO cakes, cookies, chips, french fries and all that good stuff. The occasional indulgence, and I mean occasional, is ok and even necessary to prevent falling off the wagon. But plan to excercise harder on that day to burn off the excess calories and to soothe your feelings of guilt.

Exercise is crucial. You need to do something you enjoy so that you are likely to keep doing it. Starting with a brisk walk three times a week for 30 minutes for a good start. Your goal should be to walk everyday for 30 minutes and preferrably more. I walk 7 days a week for an hour and the weight just falls off. If you can eventually add weights or some other activity, even better. But again you should consult a physician and start gradually to prevent injuries.

**** A safe rate of weight loss is 1 to 2 lbs per week and is more likely to stay off long term. ****

In my experience successful weigh-loss is more about psychology than anything else. It's believing in yourself, knowing you can do it and keeping yourself motivated. It helps if you have friends to help support you. Even better if you have friends trying to do the same thing and you excercise together etc. The buddy system helps you keep each other in check and motivated.

To stay motivated you should also have a good reason why you want to lose weight in the first place. If it's just to fit into a wedding dress or other similar superficial reason then you're not likely to have long term success. If it's to prevent heart-disease and diabetes, to live a longer life, then you have a very good reason and motivation to succeed. I'm losing weight to make sure I'm around to see my 4 year old daughter grow up, graduate from university and get married etc. I know that if I don't lose the weight and get healthier, I may not be around to see it all. This is motivation!

I hope this helps you get started.

My family and I have been using the best cleansing technology...:)the first time I did it, I lost 16 pounds in 9 days:)...check out this site....w w w .cleansewithcgnj .com

It will change your life:)

Ancient Chinese Secret....DIET AND EXERCISE! Eat healthier and break a sweat DAILY...only way to do it without surgery.

dont eat/drink sugar. stay away from any soda or juices. that will make u loose 20 lbs right there. eat healthy and excercise. these are classic remedies.

eat smart...if you consume LESS food and burn more calories than you eat you WILL lose weight...it's that simple! Will it happen overnight? NO. Will it be easy? NO. But very few things in life that are worth having are easy.

One really great website you can use is www.calorie-count.com, you can access food logs to track what you eat, exercise logs to see how many calories you burn, and weight logs. This site is COMPLETELY FREE!!! No marketing gimmicks...just a website I use personally and really love!

What I did was track a couple of days at "normal" - I ate what I normally do, and did normal activities, and tracked it all. I was so shocked to see how many calories I ate vs what I burned....so I ran the tool to tell me how many calories I "should" be eating in a day, and picked a goal for 6 months. I started walking wherever I could (we do things like park an extra two blocks away from my son's preschool and walking there together, etc.)

So far, I'm really happy with how I'm doing, and I have a constant reminder each day and a way to track and log my progress, and it's really working for me.

Good luck!!!
