American Obesity Epidemic: Supersize Me?

Who or what should be held responsible for the American Obesity Epidemic?
Corporate responsibility?
Personal responsibility?
Educated Responsibility?

After watching Supersize Me... I began to wonder...

It's no big secret that eating at mcdonalds or burger king or any other big fast food corporation is bad for you. I think a person should be held responsible for their own eating habits. I know when I go out and eat at mcdonalds that there's probably more fat in the fries than an entire homecooked meal but I do it anyways, and work it off later. It's not mcdonalds' fault that I CHOSE to eat there, so it shouldn't be their fault that there are millions of obese people.

It's a personal decision to eat fattie foods and not exercise, so I think the people who are obese have nobody to blame but themselves.

heres a revolutionary idea: I hold the fatties responsible for their own bodies!

Honestly, It all goes down to personal responsibility. Corporations are out to make money, but they are nothing without consumers making the choice to buy their product. Its not the responsibility of education, nobody has ever looked at a big mac and thought that it was healthy.

it all comes down to the persons responsibility

All 3. But for me, I would hold personal responsibility most accountable. Corporations can do us a favor in NOT advertising so many fattening foods but we have the responsibility of looking after ourselves. Corporations are out there to make money no matter what.
Education can have some responsibilities, at least towards what they feed kids in school.

the fatties blame corporations, the corporations blame the fatties and the education system blames both coporations and fatties.

personally, i think its the fatties fault that their so fat. i mean good god, learn to stick a cork in it and quit eating at McDonalds you tub of lard...(not u personally)

***the following message is from an overweight person***

I have nobody to blame for my condition besides myself, sometimes i work late and don't want to come home and cook, so i'll grab some fast food, stupid, but i do, its common sense that a half pound burger topped with mayo and cheese, a pound of deep fried potatoes, and a half gallon of coke is bad for you, but it tastes good, so the corporate is off the hook. It was my fault for eating it, we all knew it was bad even before they posted nutriton content. education is not to blame either, we knew that crap was bad before we were educated about nutrition. Except for actual medical conditions, nobody overweight has anyone to blame except themselves. If you are overweight and are blaming the corporations....STOP...put down the burger and go for a walk. If your overweight and are not complaining.....well then....carry on and be happy

we need little fat kids to make fun of. childhood obesity is the only thing that makes my day. when ever i see a 150lbs 6 year old i light up with laughter and from then on my day is fantastic................ society might not need them but i need them, and i need help preserving childhood obesity in our great plus size nation, no matter how hard i try i cant do it alone.

Corporate + personal. If the number of chains is too large, sooner or later someone's going to eat McDonalds or what not.
