Has anyone had experience in Obesity? stories please?

i am doing a school project and would like to use someone's story of childhood obesity or any other obesity. Please tell stories. Also, if anyone has done a project with this before, please let me know that too.

I don't know what you're looking for, but I have been consistenly obese since I returned to the U.S. from Germany in 1963 when I was twenty-one. I have done very physical work and have done office work also where physical exercise was at a minimum. I have lived an worked outside of this country various times and have always lost weight when in a foreign country, eating pretty much the way the natives of that country did. I spent three years in office work outside of the U.S., during which time I dropped my weight from two hundred an forty pounds to 172. I am five feet eleven inches tall and very large framed and very large boned. I was extremely fit at 172 lbs. Every time I've stayed in another country for more than a few days, I have lost weight, only to regain it upon returning to the U.S. My last trip out of this country was to Mexico for six months in 1987. I lived in the state of Merida and lost more than forty pounds while there. All I did was eat the food of the area and enjoy the native cuisine. I had no special diet nor did I change my daily activities in an attempt to lose weight. Returning to the U.S. in 1988, I regained the lost forty pounds within the succeeding six months and have since watched my weight increase to 310 pounds. Ihave tried dieting various times and have had temporary limited success, but have always regained the weight lost and then gained even more.

Over the years, I have read a lot about food and have come to the conclusion that there are major problems with the way food is grown for commerce in this country, as well as in other technological countries. I am almost convinced that the poor quality of the food is the major factor causing rampant obesity in the U.S. I feel that changes need to be made in the matter of using chemical fertilizers rather than organic material. I also feel that animal producers should not be allowed to "house" animals for the sole purpose of raising them for food. I feel that the meat and nutritional quality are both affected adversely by the practice and, to a large degree, contribute not only to obesity but to other health problems.

Good luck with your project. If you wish to ask questions or need clarification, feel free to email me.

I have a huge blog what it's like to be overweight. There are some things from my childhood. Not everything is tagged so you'll have to search or just read.
