SCHOOL DEBATE - Mdonalds vs obesity? |
i need to know websites or just good reasons to blame mcdonalds for obesity, &/or NOT to blame mcdonalds for obesity The reaons for obesity are the obese. We have become a nation that can't take responsibility for ourselves - it's always someone else's fault. Talk about how if they take mcdonalds, burger king, wendy's and other fast food rest that make all that greasy fatty stuff and keep the ones like sub way, quiznos obesity would drop down some. When people at work get hungry they tend to go out and buy whatever they see so they dont go home and have to cook for lunch. or when they just dont have the time to make food for lunch, so they tend to go out to mc'd etc etc Watch Super Size Me by Michael Moore for the reason to blame McDonalds -- trust me you will never eat there again! As far as NOT blaming them, you can do a search on the overall epidemic of fast food and processed food as a whole and see that it is not just McDonald's, but it is the American society as a whole Obesity belongs to everyone, but it falls on those of us stuffing our face with fatty foods. The answer is simple one word moderation......You cant blame Mickey D's for obesity cause if you eat Mickey D's once in awhile your not going to get FAT or suffer with Obesity.....If you eat it everyday then you will Just like with everything else from fast foods to veggies fruits and alcohol if you have a drink or two when your socializing or at home does that make you an alcoholic??? It's not McD's fault. It's the people stuffing that crap down their throats who are to blame. What ever happened to personal responsibility?? I don't know of a good web site but I wonder if people realize that they have complete control over their mouths? McDonalds doesn't force anyone to eat their Big Macs or supersized fries. But they do give people the option to choose the fries or have a salad. You get the same choices in the grocery store. Do you want the government to ban Mickey Dees because people lack the responsibility to make responsible choices? Well, I would just say that you cannot blame obesity on a restaurant. They are not sitting there with guns to people's heads telling them to eat there or else! We all have a choice to make...we all know that greasy food can lead to healthy problems, so why eat them? You could pack yourself some healthy snacks to take to work with you to eat instead of leaving and going to the closest "fast" food place. I could see blaming them if they claim to be healthy and advertise that way...but they don't! (they can say that they are healthier than another place) They just claim to taste good, and they do...but it is not their fault that some people are either weak or lazy and cannot prepare their own food! You cannot give Subway all the credit for someone losing weight...it is their decision first to go there and then they also have to exercise. I just do not feel that we should blame a restaurant for a person's negligence in their decision making of whether or not to eat a certain food! Knowing the whole time that what that food is cooked in is not good for your body! no, i would not blame mcdonalds for the obesity because they do not put a gun to your head and force you to eat there. It is a good debate. It basically boils down to your views on personal responsibility. A few analogies: |
