Do people with nystagmus need more help than a well sighted person?

Do people with nystagmus need more help than a well sighted person?

I would say that it depends on the degree of nystagmus the person has.

My daughter has mild nystagmus and doesn't require any extra help.

Her school is aware of her condition but the only allowance that is made is that they ensure she sits towards the front of the class and to one side - because her nystagmus is reduced if she looks slightly to one side rather than straight on.

Hmm I have Nystagmus- very mild though. I do have trouble but normally everything is fine. Nothing that affects me - so far.
Depending on the seriousness and condition of the person with Nystagmus. There are online groups, support, try yahoo groups

Here's a link to a really good site with information about the condition, treatment, research that is going on, and personal experiences of people who have it.
