I've had horrible symptoms for the 5+ years and doctor's still haven't decided what is it yet?

During my freshman year of college I got a horrible cold and fever. The fever was so bad that I was hallucinating. After that I began experiencing tinnitus (ringing in my right ear) every since. It has never stopped since that night. It gets quieter but then sometime its really load an roaring. Another symptom I have is severe Vertigo with true Nystagmus. The vertigo happens when Im really upset, happy or sad. In extreme heat or cold. And also if I do anything that gets my heart rate up. So the vertigo is episodic. I've been getting tested for years. They've found white spots on my brain during MRI's, I have clinical hearing differences in my right ear(tinnitus) but no clues to what is --or how to make it stop. I can't even mop my floor without getting severe Vertigo and having to lay down til it ends--which can be 3hours to five complete days! If you know anything about this--or have experienced it please help. I need a way to make ths go away so I can enjoy playing with my daughter!

So sorry you are enduring this. Often a bad virus can be a trigger for autoimmune disease. AS you have lesions on the brain, what tests have they run to determine the cause? I have Antiphospholipid syndrome and it can cause several of your problems. Not every one presents the same with this, but I would recommend a blood test.
Best wishes

Have you been tested for meneire's disease? A friend of mine had very similar symptoms, and that was the culprit. He is on a very low salt diet and certain medications that help tremendously, including antivert, which works very well to control vertigo. Good luck!
