Nut allergy?

Hi, When my daughter was about 4 we discovered she had a nut allergy,( she got hold a cashew nut) she was given a epi-pen in case it happens again. She is now 8 and never had a problem since.(although she has not eaten a nut again) Does anyone know how do i know if this allergy ever goes away with out given her a nut? As with a lot of allergies we can grow out of them?

You can outgrow allergies-I used to be allergic to milk (big bummer) but I outgrew it when I was in my teens. As for nuts, they're pretty nasty as far as anaphalyaxis goes, I wouldn't risk it. You can get skin tested by an allergist though and have bloodwork done to test for current allergies without risking it.

This can be tested in a hospital allergy clinic, it is unlikely to have left.

nut allergies do not go away i have a niece that has it too and we deal with it everyday it is hard but you should be used to it. good luck

Just don't give her nuts, its not worth it. I am allergic to peanuts, it sucks i hate it. I actually wasn't allergic until I got older, i don't know how it happened but I used to love peanuts and I can see how its going to suck for your child. Goodluck
