Kid with peanut(nut) allergy?

My kid is 18 months and might have a possible food allergy to peanuts. How have other people handled this with the same situation?

take him to a doctor and have him/her tested for the peanut allergy---IF it is true, you HAVE to inform ANYONE who takes the child for ANY reason--a neighbor, a babysitter, a family member, even a doctor or nurse or ANYONE who might have any interaction with your child that he has this allergy----kids with peanut allergies can DIE if someone mistakenly slips them a peanut or a piece of candy with a peanut in it or a peanut-butter sandwich.... I would strongly recommend a MEDIC ALERT bracelet when the child is pre-school age and after... and DEFINITELY when he/she enters school alert the school nurse, his teacher AND the principal in WRITING and verbally so that YOU know they are aware...and, let the KID know so that he won't be sitting in a lunchroom somewhere and trade his TUNA sandwich for a peanut butter sandwich....peanuts and peanut based foods are just EVERYWHERE and unless you find out for SURE about the allergy and then are VERY ALERT to what your child is eating etc. it could cause VERY serious consequences.

have him or her checked out at the doctor
just dont feed your kid things that contain peanuts, if he has an allergy
its gonna be ok

Yes, I've worked with many kids with countless amounts of allergies. Your best bet is too taking him to an allergist and have an allergy test performed. This way you'll get a definite yes or no no if he is allergic to peanuts or nuts as well as any other substances. Here are the different allergy tests an allergist typically offers. http://www.webmd.com/allergies/Allergy-T...

Good Luck
