My son is 11 with nut allergy, does any one else child suffer ? |
he is 11 yrs old going to secondary school in sept, but im so scared he had 2 carry an epipen, how am i going to protect him, he knows he cant touch or eat any nuts but its other children, i need to let him be independent but i dnt want to let him go help My son is 12 and has the same problem. My son does not have an epipen. We are cautious about everything. He knows to not eat anything that he doesn't know what it is or what is in it. Even some french fries are made with peanut oil at some restaurants so we always ask. One time, a teacher, when he was about ten,was giving them skittles, and had switched to Reeses pieces, which my son didn't recognize until he ate one, the teacher told them after the fact, and he threw up and turned into a red scaly looking lizard. Luckily it was just one. I gave him Benadryl allergy which seemed to help (the capsule) and he wanted a bath. Then he rested and I sat with him to make sure he was going to be okay. He was. I always put in his school papers about his allergies and hope that they'll do what is best. Your main thing is to just pack his lunch for him everyday for him to eat, and if a child does get peanut butter on him have him go wash right away. It is a stressful situation for us too. Allergy is a big problem in US I have 2 kids 9 and 5 both of them has allergy to dust and pollen. I know what you feel my kids taking tabs. almost every day. I don't know if there is anting more we can do. Yes, I used to know a kid whose nickname was Gram. I don't know what his real name was, but he was allergic to peanuts. All the other kids were eating donuts & he couldn't have any because they had peanuts in them. Poor kid, a life deprived of dounuts. :( my brother has peanut allergies and hes only 8 and hes fine don't worry. |
