I need some holiday treat ideas for children with nut allergy's and children who are diabetic ? |
Our schools require all treats sent to school must be store bought so please only store bought items suggested. Boy that makes it harder. Fruit tray would be okay. Diabetic can work this into their meal plan. It really depends on the age of the kids. You can buy diabetic cookies that are nut free. It is nearly impossible to ensure that regular store bought items do not contain nut by-products. Your best bet would be to shop on line at an Allergen free store or find one that supplies allergen and nut free foods at your local grocers. Fruit or yogurt to take the place of ice cream would be best. I know in my son's class almost every child has an allergy so you just about have to buy something different for each kid. Also might try jello cups or finger jello. |
