Is it possible to outgrow a tree nut allergy? What's the likelihood?

My allergist says yes, rarely, because the immune system sometimes "forgets" what it reacted to if not exposed to the allergen for years.

About 9% of children with nut allergies outgrow them, so it is possible. It's not something I'd be willing to test out unless I was at the doctors or in the hospital to begin with.
