Chocolate Chip cookies for child with nut allergies?

My daughter has a Christmas party at school next week and there is a child in her class that has nut allergies. Are regular chocolate chip cookies ok to make? Is there anything I should know? I am very nervous about this - I don't want to cause this kid to have an attack. What brands are the safest for the chocolate chips? Please help me out.

I have nut allergies, what you need to do is this:
Get BAker's Chocolate...it is , as far as I know, a nut frre place. I buy and eat it without trouble, where if I eat tollhouse, I get really bad reactions. It has a warning on it about being around nut by product...anyway....Make sure your sugar and other ingredents aren't around nut products, and check ALL the labels! Even though I don't use the tollhouse chips, I use their recipe because it is simple in it's ingredents! I would also let the teacher know that they are nut free. I would assume that she wouldn't eat anything that would make her sick without varification that it is safe!
I would aslo avoid doing half with nuts half without. The threat of cross contamination is too great.

That's great that you are being careful! PPl with allergies love ppl like you!

EDIT: ANDES mintchips are also good...

Everything else is pretty much not a good option for ppl with severe allergies.

If for some reason you can't find bakers, you can look at the brands there. If they have a peanut butter chip or anything like thata that they also make, it's better to avoid it!

just make the cookies without nuts and he'll be fine....Tollhouse is good

I have a nut allergy too; giardelli (sorry I don't know how to spell it) has not been processed with nuts. Basically make sure you read the labels; on the ingredients underneath it will say "contains peanuts" or "processed in a facility that process peanuts" or something to that respect.

just check the back of everything you buy for the little allergy warnings
make the cookies with those and you'll be fine
stop worrying! stressing wont help anything!
calm down, and jus make the cookies without nuts
i like them better that way anyway
