Interesting question!

Allergies can run in families, but not necessarily the specific allergy. The chances of a child being allergic to peanut by age 5 are currently estimated at 1.4-1.8%. If you have one child with peanut allergy, the chances of the next one having peanut allergy are around 7%. I don't know of any specific stats for children of peanut-allergic parents, but given that stat I would expect that you have a 85-90%+ chance of NOT having a peanut allergic child.

So if atopic tendencies run in your family (and particularly so if they run in your partner's family as well) then your child may be prone to things like asthma, eczema, hayfever, and allergies - but not necessarily peanut allergy specifically.

(Standard disclaimer - this should not be taken as medical advice, if in doubt see your doctor, etc etc)

Most genetic traits are passed mother to child in the female mitochondria, IE your father is bald, your sons will probably be... The peanut allergy is a hypersensitivity to a protein in peanut. The peanut allergy is developmental, IE its exposure that causes it to develope. Report It

If you limit exposure to peanut , ESP lotions/creams containing peanut oil, chances are the child wont have the allergy by adolescence. Reason is that peanut oil is a RAW peanut product which is A LOT worse than food peanut products which the protein is broken down during cooking. Report It

my daughter has the nut allergy im not sure if its passed to the baby as for curries huns make ur own i do so my daughter or indeed me and my son as we cant eat nuts either now dont miss out.when the baby is born i would say read all creams before u buy as annus oil is the term used for nut oil and with a baby im thinking alot of bum creams xxxx

there is a possibility but who knows for sure hope she doesn,t and all the very best to you hope it all goes well for you.

first thing i see here is that you are underestimating the potential serious problem you have with the coconut allergy.
i suggest you just stop having any of that as hives and rash with your history of swelling in the throat. the rash hives could quickly turn from that to the more dangerous throat swelling.
as for food allergies it seems almost anything is possible
the baby is somewhat more likely to have allergies because you have them but the development of allergies is related to many different factors .

It is possible your baby will inherit your nut allergy.
