Anyone know of a good nursing home in Central Phoenix, AZ? |
Anyone know of a good nursing home in Central Phoenix, AZ? My dad will be going to a nursing home and I am able to pick the nursing homes but I do not know of any personaly so I need help in finding one that is nice, clean, good staff, well kept, ect. So if anyone has experience or been to a nursing who can recomend a good one please respond. I am not from your area, but I have worked in numerous homes. Usually the homes operated by a religious affiliation is a very well ran home. First and foremost go into homes and walk around the halls, if it smells of strong urine odor, that means residents are not being changed. Visit with the social services director and ask questions, write down any questions you might think of before hand and ask when you get there. Ask to see all of the home. One of the things I recommend is do not go and see your father at the same time every day or week. Go at different times and different days. If they know you will show up at 4:oo every day, Daddy will be sure to be dry and comfortable at that time. Do not take anything expensive, or with great sentimental value, even the best nursing homes are not immune to theft. Sad truth is you have to be vigilant and keep an eye on things. |

I'm a director of nursing at a relatively small nursing home in Kansas. We accept younger residents and have quite a few with MR/DD and psychiatric issues. The challenge for you, my friend, ... I think the work that CNA's do is difficult and stressful and can even cause injury. Unfortunately, there are just certain categories of workers who our country doesn't value as much, so... Well my mom is the director of nursing of a 320+ bed longterm care facitlity...the hardest thing for her are state, city, and federal surveys or inspections. The government is seriously on a witch... nursing homes are not as bad as you think they are most people actually go for the therapy (they get it everyday- speech- will help her with her swallowing, physical- help her get back on her feet)... Being a home caregiver can be tough !! You have taken on a big responsibility !! Nursing homes are notoriously understaffed and do not pay their "caregivers" well. If your mother has Medi... contact the nearest primary health center.they will give u the exact guidelines for that. ...If you can afford to have a 24 hr nurse instead of sending her to a Nursing Home? by all means.. do it having Grandma still be able to live in her own home, in her own bed, her own personal pos... You poor thing as well as your dad. First, do you have family that will support you in this? If so, start using them, ask them for help, but you will need to lead the way. Second, but probably... |
