Can it be ms? |
I have been going through vertigo and lightheadedness for over a year now i have been to a doctor and they ruled out all ear disorders that are the main causes. I was refered to a ears nose and throat specialist who ordered an mri cause i had hearing loss in one ear. but the mri didnt show anything so im wondering if it is possible they were only focused on on thing and could a mri miss a ms diagnosis? i also get bad cramps in my legs and lately been very iritable i know ms is very hard to diagnose but can some on help me plz or tell me what could be causing my symptoms thanks i am 24 years old You should feel quite confident that it is not MS because there were no lesions on the brain.I went in for what I thought was chest pain, and they did MRI to look for a possible stroke and found the lesions associated with MS. They would have to tell you if they even thought you had "probable ms" alt and ast levels normal? you could still be infected with HCV as well as other diseases that cause CNS issues. by the way can you tell me your age??? The diagnosis of multiple sclerosis can be a lengthy process. Have you seen more than one neurologist? Did the MRI show any scar tissue in the deep parts of the brain or spinal cord? If not I wouldn't think it was MS. I have heard a lot of people having the same symptoms and are actually being poisoned by a loved one (in which I hope all is well in your relationship life). If you are uncertain of the doctors ruling then go see another specialist. Your symptoms could be indicative of many things. Have you considered TMJ? Do you clench your teeth in your sleep? Try a night brace for a few weeks and see if your symptoms improve. You can purchase a night brace in your local pharmacy. I have MS and it doesn't sound like any symptoms I've heard of. Generally MS is diagnosed by a series of things not just one test since every case is different. Most often the first symptoms of MS are optic neuritis (blurry or distorted vision) or clumsiness (tripping, falling or dropping things) or numbness in extremities (hands and feet). It sounds like something else. You should ask for pituitary tests...cortisol levels (could cause lightheadedness), repro hormones like estrogen (irritability), growth hormone (leg cramps). If anything comes back abnormal you should get a pituitary MRI to see if something is wrong there. |
