What are sores that crystalize?

My son has sores that are popping up around his eye and on the inside of his thigh. He also has sores on the inside of his nose that are crystalizing and scabbing over. His nose is congested. He is autistic and prone to multiple disorders, but the doctor keeps putting him back on prednisone and cephalaxin over and over since these have developed and cleared up several times since April. Any ideas?

My son had the same thing, it was determined to be Eczema. Get some cream OTC and make sure once the problem is contained to moisturize his entire body daily.

I would have a doctor take a sample and put it under a microscope- to find out what it is.

It very well may be eczema. Frequent use of saline only nasal spray may help. There are steroid ointments that can be used on the rest of the skin, but don't get them in the eyes. These are prescription. Over the counter cortisone will not help. Ointments work better than creams. Your poor son! Good luck!
