Risperdal and Lexapro?

I was recently diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. It's moderate and sometimes (maybe one a month or so) I freak out about things I'm worried about really badly. I was given Lexapro by my doctor for it (she told me to take half a pill a day which I think is 5 mgs).

I also have a tic (google defines it as a habitual twitching of the face, I guess that's how you would describe it, I keep scruching my upper lip and nose together without realizing it apparently.) and she gave me Risperdal (.25 mg) for it.

I have a friend who has taken some medicine that caused her heart problems (not Lexapro or Risperdal) but ever since then I've been really paranoid (probably fueled by my anxiety) about taking any kind of drug since then. Is there anything that's commonly bad about Lexapro or Risperdal or are they generally alright to take?

I take Lexapro.
It's perfectly fine.
