Afraid of anesthetic and never waking up or waking up during and feeling pain...? |
Thinking about have my deviated septum fixed from a broken nose and maybe a lazy eyelid but really scared about going to sleep and not waking up again or waking up during. I have panic disorder so things like this really can bug me! tell them you have panic disorder, secondly they will sedate you again if you wake up in the middle, thirdly it is rare for people to not wake up from the anesthetic, good luck Yes, I was afraid of that when I had my gallbladder out.....everything was fine!! well its the only real rest i got, and ive been out so many times i cant count them, im a cancer survivor. freaky, but workable. must overcome fear in order to progress in life I don't have a panic disorder, but Im deathly afraid of it also. All you can do is pray, and have faith that God will keep you safe! once you are pumped up wih the drugs you wont feel anxious anymore.believe me you wont wake up during the surgery.there is a doctor who moniters you and adds more dope *** needed.when the surgery is complete hit the streets and buy more drugs to keep the buzz goin. You can have a spinal and not even be put to sleep.......That's what I did when I had this fear, but after laying there for awhile I actually asked to be knocked out.........It'll be okay and is not a big deal.....Believe me, I am the anziety queen and know what you are going through.........Relax and take care............ Don't worry about waking up. That is very very very rare, and the anesthesiologist is there to watch all of your bodily reactions on the moiter. If you feel pain, your heart rate will increase dramaticaly at which time the anesthesiologist will administer more medication. i just had a circumcision and i don't remember going under or being transfered from the table to the bed. the doctors know what they r doing Well anesthesia is pretty safe. However I have a panic disorder also. I personally would not have elective surgery. I also have a deviated septum and have had it about 30 years, doesn't bother me. As for a droopy eyelid, does this bother you. Do either problems interfere with your over all health. Don't worry you want wake up during surgery. Just remember, if it isn't broke don't fix it, in other words if your not having a medical problem from your 2 problems. Leave it alone. If you are having problems discuss them with your surgeon, also your fears. If you still don't feel reassured, get a second opinion. |
