Does anyone understand this disorder? |
I'm not sure what this would even fall under . But certain things can make me feel like I am losing it. I am deathly afraid of Storms. If someone is hurt instead of helping I run or just make things worse. Once my son was falling from his highchair and instead of grabing him like a normal person I just raised my hands and screamed. Thankfully my sister grabbed him. It is like a constant worry. I jump out of my skin if someone comes up behind me. Or even watching a TV show others can see it and go wow! I am like on the edge of my seat and scream. I am talking the movie "Ice Age the Melt Down". One time there was a storm and my son was across the street my husband had to go get him because I couldn't move from my spot until he was there. And then he and his friends came to finish their game and I was trying to get the table in the hall way. They thought I was nuts. Last night my husband got a nose bleed and he threatened to lock me out of the bathroom because I was freaking out. HELP! Based on my own experiences I would have to say that you suffer from an anxiety/phobia disorder. It sounds like you have severe enough anxiety that you would benefit from some therapy and/or antianxiety medication. I would suggest you see your regular MD he may recommend you seeing a therapist and put you on a low dose of medication. Some people just freak out over the littlest things, however it sounds like your condition is a little more severe. woman get thee to a therapist. crazy? sorry. umm, i dont kno. Sounds like you have a lot of anxiety and are probably very sensitive, too. Remind your husband that one of the reasons he married you is because you are sensitive! Seems like you have a bad phobia, go to a theripist and tell him everything you told us, honestly there are others out there with teh same condition, just try and tell yourself you are not alone and this will pass. If you were a man, your disorder would be "a nancyboy." You have phobias and a high level of anxiety. I think therapy is very helpful to deal with these things. I had a problem with anxiety and therapy helped me overcome it without any drugs. I don't know if this would be a disorder, but my mother acts like this a little, and she doesn't have a disorder. Maybe you are just stained from past experiences. But I suggest maybe going to a doctor or a therapist and see what he has to say. you might have an anxiety disorder, you should see your doctor it definitely sounds like an anxiety disorder/ panic disorder. the symptoms you describe are also pretty indicative of post-traumatic stress disorder. did something happen to you in the past that makes you afraid of storms, or of people getting hurt? It sound like you're having panic attacks, you gotta go see your family doctor, he or she can precribe you meds, like zoloft. Or you can try these therapy your self by desensitize to the things that your fear the most, by frequently expose yourself to those things. The Bible says," GOD does not give us a spirit of fear, but of love and a sound mind." It also says."Draw near unto ME and I will draw near unto you". As I was on the plane headed for battle in Viet Nam I asked GOD if I would be coming back. He said " None of your business, if I bring you back you'll be back, if I don't you won't". With a smile in my heart I thought, "YOU got me again LORD. What do I do With that answer"? The important issue was my trust in HIM. In Nam more than once I received the remark, " Man you're brave!" It's true I had no fear; Not because of who I was but because of who HE is. It's better to know the healer than the disease. plz do the art of living course www.artofliving.com My father has PTSD, and some of the things he does sound so very similar to what you're saying. I don't know, but you definitely need to talk to a specialist about this--someone like Windwalker for instance. I know he helps keep me together mentally and spiritually. |
