What happens when non Hodgkin lymphoma stage 3 comes back in 8 mo .? |
What happens when non Hodgkin lymphoma stage 3 comes back in 8 mo .? depends on what type of NHL. There are about a hundred different varieties, with many variables and different prognosis. Low grade lymphomas often aren't curable where as high grade lymphomas are often curable but might require extensive treatment (chemo, radiation, stem cell transplant, bone marrow transplant, etc) for a cure. Remissions or long periods of high quality life can happen regardless of grade or type if you stay on top of your treatments and have a good treatment plan and a good team of Drs. Don't get discouraged because the first round didn't go the way you had planned (easier said than done). Not knowing what type NHL you have, it is fairly common for some people with NHL to have numerous recurrences treated with various chemotherapies before having one or multiple stem cell or bone marrow transplants that might not only put the cancer into remission but actually cure it. good luck Report It then stage 3 minus 8 months, equals go to a doctor!! Get more chemo and radiation if warranted, and keep your chin up, and live life to the fullest. Good luck. Whenever cancer comes back, treatments would need to be discussed and started. |
